Accra, Ghana - The Ministry of the Interior has taken a significant step towards modernizing its services with the launch of its Online Digital Services Portal, a platform designed to enhance transparency, improve citizen access, and streamline key interior-related services.
Speaking at the press conference, Minister for the Interior, Honourable Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, described the initiative as a milestone in the government's vision of building a modern, secure, and inclusive digital economy under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama. The portal is the latest in a series of digitalization efforts, following the successful rollout of a centralized e-recruitment system for security services.
The new portal offers a range of services, including citizenship and migration services, security and regulatory services, and specialized services. Citizens can apply for immigrant quota permits, renunciation of citizenship, dual nationality, naturalization, and registration of minors, among other services. The platform integrates with the National Identification Authority (NIA) to ensure efficient verification and faster processing.
Hon. Mohammed-Mubarak highlighted the benefits of the digital platform, including convenience, transparency, data security, revenue assurance, and strengthened national security. "These initiatives demonstrate our unwavering commitment to leveraging technology to improve service delivery," he said.
The Minister commended the collaboration between the Ministry, security agencies, and technical partners for successfully delivering the project. He encouraged the public to begin using the platform when it becomes fully operational on Monday, 15th December 2025.
The launch marks a significant advancement in the Ministry's modernization agenda, positioning Ghana firmly on the path towards a digitally empowered governance system.
