TERIA Foundation Announces Open Call for 6th Africa Early Childhood Education Awards (AECEA 2026)

Accra, Ghana - The Organizers of the Africa Early Childhood Education Awards (AECEA) have officially opened entries for the 6th edition of the Awards, scheduled to take place on Saturday, 21st November 2026. This premier continental platform recognizes excellence, innovation, and impact in Early Childhood Education across Africa and the Diaspora.

The AECEA 2026 is supported by key cultural, corporate, and media institutions, including UNESCO Ghana Commission, National Folklore Board, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, and Stanbic Bank Ghana, among others.

The Awards celebrate educators, caregivers, school teachers, centers, parents, media operations, NGOs, and stakeholders who have demonstrated commitment, professionalism, and measurable impact in strengthening early childhood development and education.

Main Award Categories:

- Outstanding Educator of the Year

- Best Teacher (Upper Primary)

- Best Teacher (Lower Primary)

- Proprietor of the Year

- School Manager of the Year

- Media House of the Year

- NGO of the Year

- Caregiver of the Year

- Assistant of the Year

- Babysitter of the Year

- Early Childhood Development Centre of the Year

- Best Centre for Disability Inclusion

- Best School in Sustainability

- Parent of the Year

- Author of the Year

- Life Time Achievement Award

Open to early childhood practitioners and stakeholders in Africa and the Diaspora, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the sector.

Submission Requirements:

- A brief profile of the nominee

- A statement of impact on learners and their community

- A justification for why the nominee deserves the award

- A passport-size photograph and contact details

- A short video of nominee at work (optional but an added advantage)

Deadline:

All entries must be submitted on or before July 2026.


Award Ceremony:

Final winners will be unveiled at the AECEA 2026 main event on Saturday, 21st November 2026, in Accra, Ghana.
