Ghana has officially launched its first National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, scheduled for July 1st. The event's theme, "Reflect, Reset and Renew for National Prosperity," aims to unite Ghanaians in a day of collective reflection and prayer, promoting national unity and spiritual renewal.

President John Dramani Mahama inspired the initiative to bring Ghanaians together, regardless of their religious, ethnic, or political backgrounds.

The National Planning Committee, comprising leaders from diverse religious backgrounds, worked pro bono to develop this initiative, emphasizing unity and spiritual renewal.

Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Chairman of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving Committee, highlighted the importance of national humility and shared purpose, quoting biblical and Quranic verses to underscore the power of gratitude and prayer.

The event invites citizens to reflect on their past, reset negative cultural patterns, and renew their commitment to national prosperity.

President Mahama emphasized the significance of the initiative in fostering national unity and encouraging spiritual reflection among Ghanaians. He stated that a united nation, underpinned by a shared sense of faith, would be better equipped to navigate challenges and realize its aspiraNatis.

The committee, chaired by Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, includes Prophet Dr. Akwasi Agyemang Prempeh as the Coordinator and members drawn from various Christian and Islamic denominations and councils.
