RENOWNED DIPLOMAT URGES AFRICANS NOT TO ALLOW SLAVERY TO DIVIDE THEM
The High Commissioner and Continental Vice President of the U. N. I. P. G. C. -USA as well as a Global Humanitarian Peace Mediator and Ambassador, Renowned Security and Conflict Resolution Expert, Ordained Minister of the Gospel and a Recipient of the Prestigious Lifetime Achievement Presidential Award from the President of the USA, Amb. Prof. Dean Roberts Jnr has stated that it is time for all Africans everywhere in the world to contemplate about unity, buy building a family and one nation instead of seeing Africa as a plantation full of weeds and trees.
The Humanitarian Peace Ambassador's statement was in reference to the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade described as "the gravest crime against humanity by one of the bravest and boldest sons of Africa, His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, while addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York, in the United States, to mark the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
According to Amb Prof. Dean Roberts Jnr, he is not a victim of history, but a survivor of the gravest crime against humanity and a beneficiary of the Slave Trade menace, among the African Descents in the Diaspora.
Speaking at the Internationally acclaimed Ibuaku Clan Development Association family retreat at the Plush Villa Hilton Hotel at Uyo, in the Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria, under the theme, "Reclaiming our Story,-Ibiaku History, Identity and Heritage Amb Roberts Jnr said, as he was speaking for the African Group, and continued that out of a total of 178 member countries, 123 countries adopted in favor, together with other African nations who applauded the Resolution, while three countries were against it and 52 countries abstained.
He said the Resolution was adopted the same day when President Mahama angrily but diplomatically and respectfully, without any apology, said he could not think of a better way to honor our fore-bearers on that day of remembrance than to have the majority of the world's countries affirm that the trafficking and enslavement of nearly 13 million human beings was, indeed, the gravest crime against humanity.
Amb. Prof Roberts Jnr said this gravest crime scattered our ancestors with a simple and evil strategy -To divide, conquer and export the precious human capital abroad.
He noted that families were broken, names were lost and clans were weakened and that forced our ancestors to the shores of America, the Caribbean and other part of the world in an uncompromising situation.
In his closing remarks Amb Prof Roberts revealed that, he will speak Ibiaku's name at international tables and as a Professor of criminology, he concluded prophetically that with the collective maximum cooperation from all the God fearing proud citizenry of Ibiaku, Mkpat, of the Akwa lbom State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, domiciled both home and abroad, teaming up with the new generation Diplomat and Ambassador at large, Amb Dennis Ufot, a United Nations Peace Ambassador, with his Integrity, exemplary dignity and selfless leadership experience in International capacities as well as his God fearing personality, Ibiaku will no longer export her destiny, but will develop it to the full benefit of all.
