Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, has emphasized the need for modernization and improved service delivery at the Lands Commission. During a familiarization tour at the commission's headquarters in Accra today, the minister highlighted the challenges facing the institution, including manual processes and inefficiencies in land administration.
The minister revealed that 80-90% of the commission's work is still conducted manually, resulting in significant delays and inefficiencies. To address this, he outlined key priorities, including .
Securing $165 million to comprehensively map Ghana's lands digitally.
Implementing full digitalization of documentation and processes.
Regularizing customary lands in compliance with existing laws.

Hon. Buah assured that the government is committed to comprehensive institutional reform, stating, "By the time we finish, the Lands Commission will be the most honest place to work."
