Dr. Justice Akrofi Holison, hitherto the Medical Superintendent of Bisease Polyclinic in Ajumako Enyan Essiam District, has ended his relationship with the facility after four years of esteemed service to the people of Ajumako-Bisease and its environs.
At a sending-forth ceremony held in honor of Dr. Holison, traditional rulers, representatives of the regional health director, Ajumako Enyan Essiam District health director, Mr. Stephen Tietor, clergy, and other distinguished guests joined the staff and management to bid him farewell. The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ajumako Enyan Essiam, Rev Ransford Kwesi Nyarkoh was present to grace the occasion.
Eulogizing Dr. Holison, the chief of Ajumako-Bisease, Osabirima Damfo Baah VII, said Dr. Holison has set a high standard in medical facility management with his sterling performance at the polyclinic for the period he headed it.
Nana recounted that he (Osabirima) and his elders went through a lot, including staging demonstrations, before their plea of seeking a medical superintendent for the polyclinic was granted. He added that Dr. Holison came at a time when the community was in need of his services and has worked spectacularly to put the facility at a high standard to the admiration of all.
Furthermore, the chief expressed his appreciation to the departing Medical Superintendent for his excellent work ethics and the relationship he built with the community. He prayed that Dr. Holison would respond anytime the facility or Ajumako-Bisease community calls on him.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ajumako Enyan Essiam District, Rev. Ransford Kwesi Nyarkoh, in his remarks, did not mince words in applauding Dr. Holison for the tremendous work done at the facility. He said Bisease Polyclinic has seen significant improvement in the number of personnel and services under the leadership of the Medical Superintendent. As if that is not enough, the DCE noted that Dr. Holison had proposed the expansion of the facility by adding other departments before his transfer.
The District Director of Health for Ajumako Enyan Essiam District, Mr. Stephen Tietor, praised Dr. Holison for his exceptional performance at the facility. He noted that the staff members played an instrumental role for him to achieve this success as the head of the facility. He called on the staff to extend this support to Dr. Ato Sackey, the new Medical Superintendent, who is taking over from Dr. Holison at Bisease Polyclinic.
Dr. Ato Sackey acknowledged the work done by Dr. Holison to place the facility at a higher level, and pledged to put his best effort to fit into the shoes. He, however, called on all stakeholders to support him in the performance of his duties.
Meanwhile, the various departments at the polyclinic poured out their farewell messages to Dr. Holison in an emotional manner, counting the good memories they had with him during his stay.
In his appreciation, Dr. Holison expressed his joy for having the opportunity to work with the staff and the people. He thanked the chief and his elders for welcoming him into the Ajumako-Bisease community and supporting him in his work. He pledged to maintain an excellent relationship with the people of Ajumako-Bisease, even at his new station.
He charged the staff of Bisease Polyclinic to rally behind their new boss as they did for him. He advised them to stay united and focus on the bigger goal of the facility.
He expressed his belief in his successor, saying the facility has reached a stage where many of the challenges have been overcome.
Dr. Justice Akrofi Holison, who served Bisease Polyclinic as the Medical Superintendent from April 2020 to June 2024, will continue his profession at Abura Dunkwa District Hospital as the head.
