Accra, Ghana - March 26, 2025 - The Licensed Surveyors Association of Ghana (LiSAG) successfully hosted its 6th Annual General Meeting and Seminar, bringing together professionals in the surveying industry to share knowledge and celebrate progress.
Surv. Ing. Samuel Larbi Darko, President of LiSAG, emphasized the vital role licensed surveyors play in shaping the built environment and ensuring sustainable development.
He highlighted the association's achievements, including a constitutional review, relocation to a new secretariat, and partnerships with reputable organizations.
As LiSAG looks to the future, Surv. Ing. Samuel Larbi Darko emphasized the need for continued innovation, collaboration, and commitment to sustainable development. With licensed surveyors at the forefront of this transformation, Ghana's urban centers are poised to become vibrant, economically robust, and livable spaces.
The seminar focused on "Leveraging Base Maps for Urban Transformation and Economic Growth: The Licensed Surveyors' Role."
Dr. Kwadwo Yeboah, CEO of the Land Use and Spatial Planning Authority (LUSPA), delivered a keynote address,on behalf of the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, stressing the importance of accurate and up-to-date base maps in driving urban transformation and economic growth.
Licensed surveyors were urged to leverage technology and innovation to drive sustainable development, create smart cities, and promote economic growth. The event showcased LiSAG's commitment to promoting professionalism, integrity, and excellence in the surveying profession.
Former Member of Parliament(Mp) for Ahafo Ano South, Mr. Francis Manu Adabor, emphasized the significance of LISAG's partnership with Landscape and GMs Services Limited, which has established a comprehensive infrastructure for reference, teaching, and course development. This collaboration marks a crucial milestone in advancing the surveying profession and contributing to Ghana's socio-economic growth.
Mr. Adabor stressed the importance of accurate and reliable spatial data for planning, decision-making, and investment. He urged licensed surveyors to leverage technology and innovation to drive sustainable development, create smart cities, and promote economic growth.

The association's collaboration with LUSPA and local government was also highlighted, with a pilot project in the Yilo Krobo Municipality aiming to produce accurate base maps for sustainable urban development.
