The Lead Pastor of Glorious Abundant Ministries International and Executive Director of Purim African Youth Development Platform (PAYDP), Prophetess Aku Xornam Kevi, has organized a women’s conference to address critical issues affecting women and girls in Ghana.
The conference also marked the official launch of her new book titled The Image of a Woman.
According to Prophetess Kevi, the book is a call for women to find their voice and fulfill their God-given purpose despite societal stereotypes and challenges.
“When you look at the Bible, there were lots of women who were judges, who were queens, government leaders and all that. But when you look into our society, there are a lot of stereotypes. It’s difficult for women to work in their purpose,” she said.
She explained that the conference brought together women leaders, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and development partners to examine the image of a woman from both a family and legal perspective.
Organizations including FIDA Ghana, International Needs Ghana, and other stakeholders participated in panel discussions that focused on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
“The main objective is to help women understand issues of sexual and gender-based violence, SRH and all that affects women,” Prophetess Kevi added.
She noted that this year’s event is the maiden edition and will be held annually to sustain dialogue and advocacy for women and girls.
As part of future editions, she said the organization will honour institutions such as UNFPA, IOM, International Needs and other individuals who have played significant roles in supporting women and girls.
The conference was held under the theme “We Are All Leaders,” emphasizing that both women and girls have the capacity to lead in every sphere of society.
