ASHIAMAN, GHANA — The Middle - East Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Ashaiman New Life District had a memorable and spiritually enriching Sabbath on Saturday, October 24, 2026, when Pastor Alfred Mark O. Attey, his wife Mrs. Margaret A. Attey, and her brother Dr. Samuel Aryee joined the congregation for worship and leadership engagement.
Mrs. Attey serves as an Administrative Secretary at the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the denomination’s world headquarters in the United States. She has dedicated years of service to the Church alongside her husband, Pastor Alfred Mark O. Attey, a minister with experience in journalism. Together, they serve as certified marriage counsellors, supporting married and engaged couples.
Dr. Samuel Aryee, a medical doctor based in London, accompanied the couple. He has supported the Church’s work in various capacities and continues to contribute to its growth and mission.
Sermon on Being Alone with God
The highlight of the Sabbath worship was a thought-provoking sermon by Pastor Attey on the theme “Alone with God.” Drawing on biblical principles and personal reflections, he emphasized the importance of cultivating a personal relationship with God through prayer, meditation, and spiritual reflection.
He encouraged members to make time for communion with God amid the pressures and distractions of everyday life, reminding the congregation that spiritual renewal, discernment, and strength for Christian service are nurtured through a consistent walk with the Lord.
The service featured hymns, special music, Scripture reading, prayer, and active participation by elders and church leaders, creating a warm atmosphere of fellowship.
The congregation expressed appreciation for the visit and welcomed the delegation with enthusiasm.
Engagement with District Leadership
In the evening, the delegation met with the Ashaiman New Life District Board and its leadership. The meeting brought together district officers and leaders to interact with the visitors and discuss matters relating to church life, leadership, and mission.
The engagement provided opportunity for mutual learning, exchange of experiences, and reflection on the collective responsibility of church leaders to advance the mission.
The visit concluded on a positive note, leaving members and leaders encouraged.
For the Ashaiman New Life District, the occasion was a reminder that the mission of the Church is strengthened not only through public worship and evangelism but also through meaningful relationships, leadership collaboration, and the personal spiritual commitment of every believer.
