TECNO Mobile Ghana Backs Black Stars with Landmark Sponsorship Ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026

TECNO Mobile Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to Ghana football by becoming the Official Smartphone Partner of the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The partnership was officially unveiled at the headquarters of the Ghana Football Association in Accra and represents a significant milestone in the growing relationship between the technology company and Ghana's football governing body.

Speaking at the launch, TECNO Mobile Ghana's National Channel Manager, Ernest Sonkor, described the partnership as more than a sponsorship agreement. According to him, it reflects a shared vision between TECNO and the GFA to support Ghanaian football and provide players with the resources needed to compete at the highest level. He emphasized that the relationship was built on mutual trust and a common belief in the potential of Ghanaian talent.

As part of the sponsorship package, TECNO Mobile Ghana announced a substantial technological support package for the Black Stars. The company will provide 100 units each of the TECNO Camon 50 Pro smartphones, TECNO Watch 3 smartwatches, and TECNO Buds 4 wireless earbuds to players and members of the technical team. These devices are expected to support performance monitoring, communication, recovery management, and content creation throughout the team's World Cup preparations and campaign.

Sonkor noted that the TECNO Camon 50 Pro, equipped with advanced AI technology and a 60X Super Zoom camera system, will allow players to capture memorable moments during their World Cup journey. He added that the TECNO Watch 3 and TECNO Buds 4 form part of the company's growing AIoT ecosystem, designed to enhance performance and support athletes both on and off the field.

In an additional motivational initiative, TECNO Mobile Ghana announced that the best player in every Black Stars match during the World Cup campaign will receive special recognition and rewards. The company believes the initiative will encourage players to consistently perform at their highest level as Ghana seeks to make a strong impact on football's biggest stage. The sponsorship comes at a crucial time as the Black Stars prepare to return to the FIFA World Cup with ambitions of recreating the memorable success of their historic 2010 campaign.

Beyond the national team sponsorship, TECNO highlighted its ongoing commitment to grassroots football development through the Dream Field Renovation Campaign, launched in partnership with Confederation of African Football in 2024. The initiative aims to renovate 100 football pitches across Africa by 2028 and has already benefited communities in Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale, and other parts of Ghana. Concluding the ceremony, Sonkor reaffirmed TECNO's belief in the future of Ghana football, stating that together with the GFA and the Black Stars, the company is not only preparing for a World Cup but also building a lasting legacy for generations to come.
