Victims Watch Africa Expresses Solidarity with Flood Victims Across the Continent

Victims Watch Africa (VWA) has extended its sympathies to individuals, families, and communities affected by devastating floods across several African countries, calling for urgent and coordinated humanitarian action.

In a statement issued by its host organization, TERIA Foundation, VWA said it is “deeply saddened by the loss of lives, the destruction of homes and livelihoods, and the displacement of thousands of people.”

The organization stated that its thoughts and prayers are with every victim, their families, emergency responders, volunteers, and all groups working to provide relief and restore hope.

“Floods remind us of the urgent need for stronger disaster preparedness, climate resilience, and coordinated humanitarian action across the African continent,” the statement said.

VWA urged governments, humanitarian organizations, the private sector, development partners, and individuals to unite in supporting affected communities with emergency relief, recovery assistance, and long-term resilience measures.

Commitment to Victim Advocacy

The group reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the rights, dignity, protection, and well-being of all victims of disasters and humanitarian crises across Africa. It pledged to continue raising awareness, promoting partnerships, and supporting initiatives that bring “hope and lasting solutions to vulnerable communities.”

“To every person affected, please know that you are not alone. Africa stands with you, and together we will rebuild stronger and create more resilient communities,” the statement concluded.

The statement was signed by Walter Mawuli Gli, Founder of TERIA Foundation and Host Organization of Victims Watch Africa (VWA).
