Greater Accra Regional Minister Announces Security Measures to Ensure Peace and Safety

 Story by,  Paul Mensah Nsor

Accra, Ghana - Linda Ocloo, Greater Accra Regional Minister, has announced measures to ensure peace, security, and public safety in the region. In a public address, Ocloo declared a security zone in an enclave within the Adenta West Municipality due to ongoing disputes over land ownership.

The declaration, effective immediately, prohibits all developmental activities in the area pending court decisions. Joint police and military patrols have been deployed to maintain order, and only authorized security personnel are permitted to operate in the enclave.

Ocloo also addressed rising fire outbreaks in markets, citing mixed use of market spaces as a main cause. Metropolitan, municipal, and district assemblies have been directed to intensify public education and provide designated spaces for fire service personnel.

Additionally, Ocloo has directed local assemblies to repair non-functional street lights along key roads to enhance visibility, reduce accidents, and improve security.

Residents, traders, and traditional authorities are urged to cooperate with these measures to ensure community safety and peace. The Regional Security Council (RSEC) will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
