Accra, Ghana - The TERIA Foundation has announced the maiden edition of the African Festivals Summit & Expo (AFRAVEX), a groundbreaking continental platform designed to bring together festival organizers, cultural and creative industry leaders, tourism boards, arts councils, ministries, Diaspora groups, NGOs, media agencies, and exhibitors.
Scheduled to take place in May 2026 in Accra, Ghana, AFRAVEX aims to celebrate Africa's rich cultural heritage and promote the role of festivals as engines of cultural preservation, economic growth, and global connection. The event's theme is "Celebrating Africa and its Diaspora: Connecting the World through Festivals".
The objectives of AFRAVEX include:
