Accra, Ghana - The Association of Small Scale Industries, established in 1986 by an Act of Parliament, has inaugurated its Ashaiman District chapter, marking a significant milestone in its efforts to promote small businesses in Ghana.

National President of the Association, Rev. Christian Balagi, emphasized the crucial role the Association has played as the mouthpiece for small businesses in Ghana. He noted that next year, 2026, the Association will celebrate its 40th anniversary, and the inauguration of the Ashaiman District is a testament to its commitment to supporting small-scale industries.

Rev. Balagi highlighted Ashaiman as a busy business center and expressed pride in the Association's achievement. "When we come together, we can form a strong base," he said.

Mr. Clearforce Tetteh, Ashaiman District Chairman, observed that many small businesses in the district are not formalized and pledged to work towards formalizing them. "This will benefit business owners and the community," he said.

Madam Esther Martey, a committee member, noted that small-scale businesses, including welders, tailors, seamstresses, and farmers, dominate the district's economy. She emphasized the need for unity among business owners to build a better future.

The Association's efforts aim to promote small businesses and support economic growth in Ghana. The inauguration of the Ashaiman District chapter is expected to boost the local economy and create opportunities for small business owners.
