Accra, Ghana - The Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG) has taken a bold step to reshape the country's creative landscape with the launch of the Gong Gong Awards board. This groundbreaking initiative aims to revolutionize industry recognition and innovation, addressing years of challenges that have plagued the sector.

The newly formed board represents a strategic response to concerns about transparency and fairness in the awards process. AAG President, Andrew Ackah, acknowledged the industry's past struggles, stating, "Over the years, we lost that touch, that luster of trustworthiness with the awards."

The board's key objectives include ensuring transparency and fairness, recognizing and empowering creative professionals, and bridging the gap between local creatives and global brands. Ackah emphasized the need to showcase African creativity on the international stage, highlighting recent achievements, such as increased representation in global judging panels at events like Cannes Lions.

The board's composition is unique, with a mix of AAG council members and external professionals, ensuring a balanced and objective approach to decision-making. The initiative has already garnered significant support, with TV3 offering to cover the awards, symbolizing growing industry solidarity.

The Gong Gong Awards board is more than just an administrative body; it's a transformative platform aimed at nurturing talent, building partnerships, and driving systemic change. With plans to host the next awards around May-June, the board is poised to make a lasting impact on Ghana's creative industry.
