Ghana Investment Promotion Centre Launches Investment Opportunity Mapping Project

The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), led by CEO Simon Madjie, has launched the Investment Opportunity Mapping Project (IOMP), a comprehensive initiative aimed at documenting investment prospects across all 261 districts of Ghana. 

The project is being undertaken in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, and other partners.

The IOMP has several key objectives, including:

Identifying and documenting investment prospects, Across all districts in Ghana, to promote inclusive development and reduce concentration of investment in urban centers.

Promoting inclusive development, By highlighting investment opportunities in various regions, to foster equitable distribution of foreign direct investment.

Mobilizing local and foreign investment, Providing opportunities for Ghanaians with financial resources to invest in the country.

The IOMP is rooted in several core pillars, including:

Comprehensive documentation, Identifying and documenting investment opportunities across all districts.


High-level forums, Spotlighting regional opportunities and promoting equitable distribution of foreign direct investment.

Tailored presentations, Equipping ministers, Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives, traditional authorities, and influential leaders with investment pitches.

Physical presence, Establishing a presence in key regions to enhance accessibility and service delivery.

Digital platform, Creating a user-friendly mobile application to showcase investment opportunities.

Attract strategic partners and investments Under the 24-hour Economy Initiative, including the Dear Water Economic Corridor.

Organize a global investment summit Bringing together investors and stakeholders to explore investment opportunities in Ghana.

Enhance accessibility and service delivery Through physical presence and digital platforms.

By launching the IOMP, the GIPC aims to promote inclusive development, mobilize investment, and showcase Ghana's investment opportunities to the world.
