Prayer Palace International Alleges Encroachment by Chinese Developer on Disputed Teshie Land

 The leadership of Prayer Palace International has raised concerns over an ongoing land dispute involving a Chinese developer it accuses of commencing construction on property the church says it legally acquired in 2019.

At a press conference on Monday, June 15, Founder and Lead Pastor Prophet Emmanuel Adjei said the church lawfully purchased the parcel of land from the Numo Kofi Anum Family of Teshie, whom it recognizes as the rightful custodians. According to the church, the family provided all necessary documentation confirming the sale and ownership, which was presented to church leadership.

Despite these documents, the church alleges the Chinese developer has entered the property and begun construction. Church officials further claim the development is being carried out with the authorization of another individual also laying claim to the land, reportedly with the support of persons believed to be land guards.

The church said it reported the matter to the Ghana Police Service, and the case was referred to the Property Fraud Unit (PFU) to determine rightful ownership. Church representatives stated that all parties were instructed to stay off the land for one week while investigations continued.

However, Prayer Palace International alleges that construction activities persisted during that period despite the directive. The development, church leaders say, has heightened concern among congregants. They also expressed dissatisfaction with what they described as inadequate enforcement measures during the ownership verification process.

Church leaders said the land was earmarked for community projects, including a school, a hospital, and a sanctuary for future generations. They allege the site is now under serious threat and claim that certain politically connected individuals are attempting to facilitate the transfer of the church’s legitimately acquired land to the Chinese developer.
