The Ghana Football Association on Thursday, April 24, 2026, paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Sports and Recreation to officially introduce the newly appointed head coach of the Black Stars, Carlos Queiroz.
The delegation was led by GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, alongside Black Stars Committee member Dr. Randy Abbey and other Executive Council members. The visit formed part of preliminary engagements ahead of Queiroz’s official unveiling to the Ghanaian public.
Welcoming the team, Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Iddrisu Adams formally introduced Queiroz to the management and staff of the Ministry and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the senior national team to new heights.
In a symbolic gesture of unity and acceptance, the Minister presented the experienced coach with a beautifully handwoven Northern smock (Fugu), signifying Ghanaian hospitality, belonging, and national pride.
Queiroz’s appointment has sparked optimism among football fans and stakeholders, as he prepares to steer the Black Stars into a new era, with a key mandate to lead the team through the 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
