Accra, Ghana - The Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment has expressed its deepest regret over the tragic stampede that claimed the lives of six young Ghanaians who were seeking recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces at the El-Wak Stadium.
In a press release, the Ministry conveyed its condolences to the families, friends, and communities of the deceased and wished for the quick recovery of those injured in the incident. The statement, signed by Hon. George Opare Addo, Minister for Youth Development & Empowerment, acknowledged the courage and aspirations of the young people who sought to serve their nation with honour and dedication.
The Ministry recognized that the recruitment process is part of the government's efforts to address the unemployment situation among the youth in the country, which is a top priority for the government and the Ministry.
