Accra, Ghana - the Ghana Police Service, working in collaboration with the Ghana Armed Forces under the National Election Security Task Force, has been taking measures to ensure security, law, and order across the country.
According to ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Head of the Public Affairs Directorate of the Ghana Police Service, the security agencies have recorded a number of incidents of lawlessness and violence in various locations across Ghana.

ACP Ansah-Akrofi warned that while no firearms have been used yet, the security forces are prepared to respond appropriately according to the law to maintain the peace of the country.
Similar incidents were reported at the Ghana Petroleum Authority and the passport office, where individuals demanded jobs, leading to unrest. A crowd also formed around a councilman in Accra, but the intervention of the police and military personnel restored order and dispersed the crowd.
Instances of unrest were also recorded at the engineer center in Asuboi, Ayensuano in the Eastern Region, GHAPOHA in Tema, and in Wenchi, where a group of people freed suspects from a police station. An intelligence operation is currently underway to apprehend the suspects who were freed.
In total, 10 additional persons have been arrested in connection with these acts of lawlessness and vandalism, bringing the total number of arrests to 107. ACP Ansah-Akrofi emphasized that all the suspects have been taken through the due process of the law.
