Accra, Ghana - In a groundbreaking move to enhance digital learning access across Ghana, the Center for National Distance Learning and Open Schooling (SENDLOS) has announced the launch of the Asanka platform, a Ghanaian-owned offline learning management system.

Nana Gyamfi Adwabour, the Executive Director of SENDLOS, expressed excitement about the potential of Asanka to resolve issues of connectivity and education access, especially in remote areas of the country. "With Asanka, we aim to ensure that every child, irrespective of their location, will have access to education through digital means," Adwabour stated.

Asanka joins SENDLOS's existing initiatives, including the iBox, iCampus, Ghana Minecraft Education, and Learning Passport, all of which are part of the agency's efforts to infuse ICT into the education sector. Adwabour emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating, "We don't expect to fight to try to resolve the solution alone. You need to be able to coordinate and collaborate."

The agency has taken steps to foster coordination and collaboration within the EdTech ecosystem in Ghana. Adwabour highlighted the success of the first national distance digital learning conference held at Labadi Beach, which helped stakeholders understand each other's initiatives and avoid duplication of efforts.

"Now, you could see the EdTech system is working so high, and Ghana is nearly named as one of the best countries leading the ecosystem," Adwabour proudly stated. The focus now is on continuous improvement and leveraging the strengths of different initiatives to eliminate learning poverty in Africa and Ghana.

With the launch of Asanka and the agency's commitment to collaboration, SENDLOS is poised to play a pivotal role in transforming digital education access and outcomes across the country.
