Accra, Ghana - The National Election Security Task Force, including the Electoral Commission of Ghana, has secured vehicles from various state agencies to support security operations for the upcoming general elections on December 7, 2024.

In a press conference, the Task Force expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Education, district assemblies, and other local government agencies across the country for positively responding to the call for vehicle support.

"A number of these agencies...have heeded our call and positively responded and have provided us with some pickups and buses to support the election operation exercise," said Grace Ansah Akrofi, Public Affairs Director of the Ghana Police Service.

The vehicles will be crucial in facilitating the movement of personnel and logistics to enhance security during the elections, the Task Force noted. They reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring security, law, and order for a peaceful election, and invited all stakeholders to join in this endeavor.

This vehicle support from state agencies is in line with established practices for past elections in Ghana, as the authorities work to secure adequate resources for the upcoming polls.
