NPP Confident of Victory in Upcoming Elections, Warns NDC of their Violent Plans

Story by Nsor Paul Mensah

Accra, Ghana - In a press conference, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed unwavering confidence in their victory in the upcoming December 7 general elections. The party's National Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of hatching dangerous schemes to disrupt the electoral process through violent tactics.

Boakye stated that the NPP has uncovered disturbing plans by the NDC to adapt violent methods in a desperate bid to intimidate voters and distract the electoral process. He revealed that the party has been training "thugs" in pockets of communities, including the Obuasi East constituency, under the guise of private security training. These individuals are allegedly being prepared to cause mayhem on election day, particularly in the NPP stronghold of the Ashanti region.

Furthermore, the NPP claims to have discovered plans by the NDC to use ambulances to transport weapons and deploy thugs on motorbikes to shoot indiscriminately in NPP strongholds. The party also alleges that some NDC members, led by a retired Commissioner of Police, are coordinating efforts to escalate insecurity in the Ashanti region and other NPP strongholds.

Boakye assured Ghanaians that the security forces are on top of the situation and that there is little for them to worry about. However, he emphasized the need for well-meaning Ghanaians to stand firm against any attempt by the NDC to mar the beauty of the upcoming elections.

In response to the NDC's allegations of a plot by the NPP to rig the elections, Boakye dismissed the claims as entirely baseless and devoid of any credible evidence. He reiterated the NPP's confidence in emerging victorious, stating that the elections will be conducted peacefully, with voting, counting, and collation done at the polling stations.

The NPP has vowed to use all lawful means to safeguard the sanctity of the December 7 election and defend Ghana's democracy. The party remains steadfast in its belief that Al Hajj Doctor Mahmoud Bayomia, their presidential candidate, will be the next president of the Republic of Ghana.
