By: Victoria Nana Adwoa Kwofie

National Service personnel who were posted to the Legal Aid Commission’s Head Office and Greater Accra Office marked the end of their service with a send-off party on Friday, 4th October 2024. The event was held at the Head Office, located in the Ministries.

About 22 personnel from both the Accra and Head Offices completed their service. The personnel included law students, as well as accounting, ICT, and administration students, all of whom served in various departments within the Commission.

During their service, the personnel were privileged to undergo paralegal training organized by the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative and the Legal Resources Centre. This training enriched their experience at Legal Aid, equipping them with essential legal skills. At the send-off party, personnel shared the lessons and benefits they gained during their time with the Commission. Some non-law students expressed a newfound interest in pursuing a legal career after their service.

In appreciation of the opportunities and guidance provided during their service, the 2023/2024 National Service personnel presented a citation to the Executive Director, Edmund Amarkwei Foley Esq, and the Greater Accra Regional Director, Nelson Kporha Esq.

The event was graced by officers from various departments, who joined in to bid farewell to the outgoing personnel.
