The Nii Kootse Foundation has been officially launched with a health screening event in the Duayeden community of the Nsawam Adogyiri municipality in the Eastern region.
The foundation aims to provide support for youth education and healthcare, empower women, and help build agribusiness in the community.
Dr. Nii Teiko Kwashie Kootse II, a chief from Adjin Kotoku in the Greater Accra Region, is the founder and executive director of the foundation.
He stated that the establishment of the foundation fulfills his childhood dream of making an impact on people's lives.
Nii Teiko Kwashie Kootse II has already offered a parcel of land for the construction of a clinic, with plans to build a police station in the future.
He also advised traditional leaders to serve as agents of development in their communities and not just occupy their stools.
The chief of Duayeden, Nana Kwabena Bram II, expressed gratitude for Nii Kootse's philanthropic efforts and welcomed the foundation into the community, stating that the project will bring development to the people.
He called for peaceful coexistence among the people in the community, adding that disturbances in the area should be dealt with to avert chaos. He prayed Nii Kootse II to help in ensuring this to happen.
The assembly member of the area also noted that the foundation's establishment comes at the right time and will positively impact many lives in the community.
