The District Pastor for E.P church, Adenta, Rev.Professor Dorothy BEA Akoto has urged fathers to let robust faith in Christ be their guiding principle in the daily paths of life.
Commending fathers for their invaluable role in providing for the sustenance of their families, she admonished them to exhibit faith to overcome the challenges of daily living as christians.
She gave the advice in an interview following a sermon delivered on Father's Day which was on the theme " Growth in the Christian faith",
Rev. Akoto indicated that people who grow do not remain stagnant so there was the need for christians, and for that matter fathers to grow their faith to enable them stand the test of time in this last days.
" For us to grow in the things of God, we have to be completely dependent on God in all situations ", she said.
The Reverend Minister admonished fathers to live lives that please God in order to witness the hand of God in their daily living.
She urged fathers not to relent on their roles in counseling, directing, teaching, guiding, directing, providing and mentoring their dependants.
She, however, encouraged fathers who might be shirking their responsibility for one reason or the other to turn a new leaf for the sake of Christ.
Quizzed on the role of the clergy in ensuring a peaceful election, she said there was the need for Ministers of God to admonish their congregants to exhibit the principles and virtues of their faith which include peace, love, patience, kindness and joy.
According to her, these are the fruits of the spirit which all of us must exhibit if we want peace to prevail in our world.
She said whether we are in an election year or not, as christians, we must constantly be advocating for peace by becoming living examples of the virtues of the fruits of the spirit.
She pointed out that christians must lead the charge to seek peace before, during and after the elections wherever they find themselves.
Reacting to the issue of the clergy not speaking up when matters take a worse turn in the country, she said " God did not give us the power to judge since He is the ultimate judge. We can only exhort our leaders and it is up to them to exercise the freewill to accept it ", she said.
