Mr Samuel Amoah the national deputy communications director for GPRTU,has come out to outlined some cogent reasons why commercial drivers in the country needs to be honored, celebrated and rewarded with a scheme of drivers day.
According to him commercial drivers are the carriers of the economy, because without them the economy will be in standstill.
It is about time commercial drivers in the country, needs to be celebrated and honored,by the government to serve as a source of motivation for them.
The economy rest upon the shoulders of commercial drivers, because they always make sure to transport
passengers to their destination, to go and work to add up with the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
When it comes to sacrifices, commercial drivers have sacrificed a lot for the country, when it comes to increment of transport fares, they always listen and abide by the government approval, irrespective of how skyrocketing fuel prices will be.
Even in recent times looking at how the fuel prices increases unconditionally and unreasonably, commercial drivers haven't increased transport fares in the manner they suppose to increase it.
Looking at how depicting and deplorable most of our roads in the country looks like and yet still commercial drivers risk their lives and vehicles to drive on such road to serve the interest of Ghanaians.
All the components connected to the transport business,is now unbearable, the likes of spare parts, road worthy, insurance, fuel etc has become headache for commercial drivers, but yet still they managed to serve the interest of the country.
This is a passionate call, that the government needs to adherence to it, so that it will serve as motivational booster for all commercial drivers.
