Graduate Fashion Show Highlights Unique and Original Designs by Students.
Young fashion designers from the Catechist Georgina Korankyewaa Memorial Fashion School in Ghana are set to make their mark in the fashion industry. The school, named after the late Catechist Georgina Korankyewaa, held its 2nd graduation and fashion show over the weekend, showcasing the talent and creativity of its graduates.
Under the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), the one and a half-year program at the fashion school aims to empower teenagers and young adults by offering them an opportunity to join the fashion industry.
The graduation event featured a display of unique and original designs by the graduates, who have developed their skills through the program.
Highlighting the importance of gaining vocational skills in the current economic climate, Beatrice Ofori, the Human Resource Manager at the school, expressed the desire to equip every child with a valuable skill. She stated, "We want them to be fully equipped, have that skill, and be useful as we always wish we could have."
The graduates themselves are determined to conquer the fashion industry and reject the notion that technical and vocational education courses are only for academically challenged individuals. Marian Agyeiwaa Larbi, the best graduating student, emphasized that fashion design requires academic proficiency and encouraged others interested in fashion to join the field.
