AKUFO ADDO POISED TO INTRODUCE VISA--FREE FOR ALL AFRICANS THIS YEAR

The President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has indicated that his government is committed to ensure visa free for all Africans travelling to Ghana. He said he aim at ensuring that this policy will be implemented before he leaves office by the end of the year.

The President said this on Thursday, January 25, when delivering keynote address on the second edition of Africa Prosperity Dialogue being held at Peduase Lodge in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

President stated that, the African continent is blessed with a lot of resources, and that it cannot be described  as poor, considering the the rich mineral deposits coupled with youthful population.

He added that the the description of Africa continent as a continent with much prosperity should be transferred into productivity. 

He applauded the private sector for the vital role played in ensuring that the dream of the forefathers to have a common Africa market is lived.

The Africa Prosperity Dialogue is being organised by the Africa Prosperity Network under the auspices of Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Others dignitaries who were in attendance are the former president of Mozambique and Chairman of African Forum, H.E Joachim Alberto Chissano, Secretary General for the AfCFTA, H. E Wamkele Mene, Chairman of KGL and GIPC, Mr Alex Dadey, CEO of Development Bank Ghana, CEO of Africa Prosperity Network, Njack Kane, CEO of Dzata Cement, Mr Ibrahim Mahama, Sector ministers from some Africa countries and Carribbean, CEOs of private and governments as well as strategic partners.

H.E Joachim Alberto Chissano advised that, Africa deliberations during the summit should be guided by the desires of the African people.He therefore urge African leaders to produce to feed the people.



The General Secretary of AFCFTA, H.E Wamkele Mene added that, the AfCFTA is aimed at establishing a single market for Africa products, where barriers to intra-Africa trade will be removed.

The Africa Prosperity Dialogue is expected to end on Saturday, January 27.
