HEALTH SAFETY: GHANAIANS URGED TO PATRONIZE HERBAL MEDICINE FROM LICENSED PRACTITIONERS

Report By Bernard K Dadzie

Snr. Doctor at the Sufficient Grace Theocracy Hospital, Apostle Dr. Kadmiel E.H Agbalenyo, has urged Ghanaians who rely on herbal medicine as  their source of treatment to diseases to always purchase the herbal products from licensed practitioners.

Persons who prefer to buy herbal medicines should ensure that they are doing so from licensed outlets."Persons who take herbal medicine without any measurement or dosage will have serious challenge with their leaver."

He furthered that the people are providing healthcare, that is a different issue altogether, but these are people only selling products and the natural products is actually allowed to be sold. But then, that is the difference between the manufactured products and then the natural form.

Speaking to Oyerepa Tv reporter Bernard K. Dadzie in an exclusive interview at the commemoration of the 21st African Traditional Medicine Day and the 24th Traditional Medicine Week celebration in Ghana, Dr. Kadmiel observed that people who buy herbal products in public transport put their lives in danger.

According herbal medicine, which a lot of Ghanaians see it as natural remedy has two sides the good and bad depending on how you take it, therefore needs professional herbal practitioner to prescribe the dosage.

He called on the regulatory bodies, FDA to be vigilant because a lot of people perceived to be practitioners are in only for the money and not the holistic health and well-being for all Ghanaians.
