Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, one of the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer candidates, has asked delegates not to allow money to influence their vote on who would lead the party on November 4.
He made this statement after the balloting for the flagbearer hopeful ahead of the delegates’ conference on November 4 was held in Accra on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.
Mr. Agyapong, who picked the first spot on the ballot, noted that he is the one God has chosen to lead the NPP.
“If you believe in the Bible, picking the number one position is a clear indication that I should lead Ghana.” He added
According to him, he is optimistic that the delegates will vote for him on November 4 in order to restore Ghanaians’ faith.
On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, the Presidential Elections Committee of the party had a meeting with the remaining four aspirants on the modalities for the November 4 polls.
At the end of the meeting, the secretary to the committee revealed in a statement that the contestants reached a consensus on the modalities for the conduct of the elections, and with the help of officials from the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana, they conducted successful balloting for the contestants.
Kennedy Agyapong is number one on the ballot paper, while Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia is captured second on the ballot paper. Dr. Owusu Afriyie-Akoto and Francis Addai Nimoh will appear on the ballot paper as numbers three and four, respectively.
