The National Population Council has organized a day workshop for a group of media professionals supporting population and development issues from various media outlets on how to acquire knowledge on the population policy and use modern media to support population and development issues.
The objective of the media workshop was to share knowledge on the Population Policy which aims to ensure a healthy, educated, skilled population for family and national development and also devise ways of reducing the high level of avoidable high-risk pregnancy in the country.
The one-day training course attended by the Executive Director of National Population Council (NPC) , Dr Adelaide Leticia Appiah, department of Population Policy , NPC staff and others. Aimed to enhance the efficiency and capacity of media professionals and professionals in the use of modern media to support and promote population and development issues.
The Executive Director for National Population Council (NPC), Dr Adelaide Leticia Appiah, called for knowledge sharing among Media professionals in the country to propel national development. To create effective awareness messages to change the views, behaviors and attitudes of members of society on population and development issues.
Dr Adelaide Leticia, who was addressing the Media Professionals on Friday October , 21 at a new-era media workshop on collective improvement and open communication in population matters urged the media to acquire knowledge among themselves that will help them to achieve one goal.

According to her, knowledge, in general, is a potent instrument for change in any nation, saying professionals cannot openly communicate without relevant and functional knowledge since knowledge and education are potent instruments of change for any Nation.
“Knowledge sharing and use is the most important public good. It is the main engine for the development of any individual or nation and no responsible family, community or government would neglect its education or knowledge-sharing practices be it formal, informal or functional” she emphasized
Dr. Appiah's media engagement, stated in categorically that to create and share knowledge effectively, the media needs to be abreast with pertinent issues regarding the population to educate and improve the lives of the populace.
For her, the majority of citizens rely on the media to translate educational values that are engaging, stimulating, empowering and transforming for the good of society, and therefore encouraged the media Practitioners to do their possible best to help the development of the country.
