His Holiness Pope Francis on Friday appointed Reverend Father Mathew Yitiereh as the new Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Yendi.
Rev Fr Yitiereh replaces Bishop Vincent Sowah Boi-Nai, who retired at the age of 75.
The Reverend Father Lazarus Anondee, the Secretary General of the Catholic Bishop’s Conference, in a press briefing in Accra, said the announcement was released by Rev Mosignor Maher Chammas, Charge d’Affaires of the Apostolic Nunciature in Ghana.
In an interview with the AFRICA NEWS in Accra, Rev Anondee said the Rev Fr Yitiereh would be ordained and installed as the new Bishop of Yendi within two to three months.
Rev. Francis Mathew YITIEREH was born on 1st January 1961 at Nandom Pina in the Upper west Region of Ghana, from a very religious Catholic parents, Mr. Richard Yitiereh and Mrs, Sabina Yitiereh, who are both deceased.
