The University of Ghana section of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), has reported a strike starting from January tenth, 2022.
UTAG is requesting better states of aservice and an addition in compensations of University lecturers.
Addressing Citi News, Secretary of the University of Ghana UTAG, Professor Ransford Gyampo said they will keep on proceeding till they are given what is expected them.
"notices, taking everything into account, have been sent to all stakeholders about the expectation to reach since accords arrived at have not been regarded. Courses of events settled upon have not been clung to," he said to Citi News.
The University of Ghana branch had before taken steps to strike from January 3, 2022.
One of the part's primary complaints is the National Executive Committee's (NEC) choice to acknowledge the government's Memorandum of Agreement proposing among others the payment of a $1,600 research remittance to individuals from UTAG.
UG-UTAG in an assertion said the NEC affirmed acknowledgment of the Memorandum of Agreement despite the fact that a few sections of UTAG were against the arrangement.
It in this way requested that the NEC pull out its dispatch recommending that an arrangement was reached by UTAG individuals to acknowledge the exploration remittance and a proposition for the government to finish a Labor Market Survey Report to decide the audit of the Interim Market Premium by December 2021 for execution in 2022.
The six other branch individuals from UTAG, that is KNUST, UDS, UEW, SDD-UBIDS, CKT-UTAS, and UENR additionally upheld the choice to dismiss the understanding.
UTAG is yet to officially convey a cross country strike.
