Lionel Messi is one of four Paris St-Germain players to test positive for Covid-19.
The Argentine forward and partners Juan Bernat, Nathan Bitumazala and Sergio Rico were affirmed to have Covid a day prior to PSG's French Cup tie against fourth-level side Vannes.
The group of four are supposed to be separating.
PSG supervisor Mauricio Pochettino added that Messi stayed in Argentina where he spent the colder time of year break and would not go until testing negative.
During a pre-match news gathering on Sunday, Pochettino said he was unable to put a date on Messi's return.
PSG's first association round of 2022 later their colder time of year break is against Lyon on Sunday, 9 January.
Forward Neymar will miss that match as he proceeds with his recuperation from a lower leg injury in Brazil.
PSG say the 29-year-old is relied upon to get back to preparing in three weeks.
