Governent will be held responsible if Bagbin’s security is compromised’ – Minority

The Minority in parliament has shown that it will consider the Akufo-Addo government capable assuming the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin's security is compromised in any capacity.

Their remark is in response to the withdrawal of four warriors joined to the Speaker of Parliament's office by the Ghana Armed Forces.

As indicated by the Minority, they have sensible reason to trust that the choice to pull out the faculty is politically persuaded.

They fight that the choice is lamentable and should not to have been taken. They have thusly required the withdrawal letter to be removed.

"The minority will hold the public authority of President Akufo Addo mindful should the security of Rt. Hon Alban Bagbin , the speaker of Parliament be compromised in any capacity… .We further require the quick withdrawal of the letter with ref no: GH/1002/01/COS composed for the benefit of the Armed Forces by the Chief of Staff and implying to pull out the tactical faculty appended to Mr Speaker's office."

A new letter from the Chief of Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, NP Andoh to the Speaker said the four officials were appended 'without legitimate method.'

The officials, WO1 Jafaru Bunwura, WOII Apugiba Awine David, S/Sgt Agbley Prosper and Sgt. Bonney Prince have been serving Bagbin's office since he became Speaker in January 2021.

"It is modestly mentioned that the staff are removed with impact from 14 January 2022 while endeavors are made to regularize their connection," the letter expressed.

Peruse the minority's full explanation beneath:

Articulation BY THE PARLIAMENTARY CAUCUS OF THE NDC ON THE WITHDRAWAL OF THE MILITARY SECURITY DETAIL OF THE SPEAKER OF PARLIAMENT, RT. HON ALBAN BAGBIN BY THE NANA AKUFO ADDO LED GOVERNMENT.

The Minority in Parliament is disheartened and unequivocally decry the withdrawal by President Akufo-Addo's administration of the tactical detail appended to the office of the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon Alban Bagbin with impact from the fourteenth January, 2022. It is relevant to take note of that the main explanation given for the dishonorable withdrawal of Mr Speaker's security detail is that the connection was managed without following the legitimate technique. Inquisitively, the government fizzles or potentially discards to explain the strategy for the connection of military faculty to high profile characters like the speaker of Parliament.

Assuming the activity of the tactical central leadership is in sincerely, the anomaly according to the connection could be redressed without essentially pulling out the staff.

The main obvious end result a sensible psyche would attract as for the disappointment of government to demonstrate the idea of the system as far as anyone knows penetrated by Mr Speaker's outfit is that appropriate strategy was followed for which reason the tactical central leadership had no trouble connecting the tactical staff being referred to his office. For sure, the Clerk to Parliament on the 21st January, 2021 kept in touch with the head of staff of the Armed Forces and appropriately mentioned the connection of the tactical faculty being referred to. Now, the head of staff didn't identify any procedural inconsistencies comparable to Mr Speaker's solicitation. Notwithstanding, one year on a similar head of staff who for the tactical central leadership conceded the solicitation presently needs Ghanaians to accept that he acted in blunder in the principal occasion? The acting of the head of staff in such manner is no doubt ludicrous.

The minority states further with no prevarication that the connection of military staff to the workplace of the speaker is definitely not a segregated episode by any stretch of the imagination. For example, individuals from the presidential part of government other than the president and Vice President who are beneath the speaker of Parliament as far as status and rank as accommodated in the constitution have at different occasions had troopers appended to their workplaces. A remarkable model is the current Attorney General and Minister for Justice who, even as appointee Attorney General had a warrior for his protector.

One more illustration of a state official beneath the speaker as far as status and rank who meanders town with military assurance is the director of the Electoral Commission, madam Jean Mensah.

Moving from the abovementioned, the minority is sure that the activity of the tactical central leadership comparative with the withdrawal of Mr Speaker's security detail is politically spurred and determined to lessen his trust in his bid to unbiasedly and autonomously steer the undertakings of the administrative arm of government.

In the conditions, the minority will hold the public authority of President Akufo Addo mindful should the security of Rt. Hon Alban Bagbin , the speaker of Parliament be compromised in any capacity.

We further require the prompt withdrawal of the letter with ref no: GH/1002/01/COS composed in the interest of the military by the head of staff and indicating to pull out the tactical faculty connected to Mr Speaker's office.

Signed: Minority pioneer, Hon Haruna Iddrissu.
