Ghana's active COVID-19 cases cross 12,000 after yuletide

 

Ghana has recorded 1,067 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the country's present active case build up to 12,422.

Out of this number, 23 and 4 people are in serious and basic conditions, separately.

This is per the most recent update by the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

The new cases bring the nation's absolute case build up to 146,119, with 1,306 deaths since the flare-up of the pandemic in the country in March 2020, while 132,391 recuperations have been recorded.

As of December 1, 2021, the country's active cases were 692 yet expanded pointedly during the yuletide to 8,554 by December 28, 2021.

Akufo-Addo sets new cutoff time for immunizing 20 million Ghanaians

President Nana Akufo-Addo had prior withdrew from the underlying goals to immunize 20 million Ghanaians before the finish of 2021.

"That 20 million goal, we may not (have the option to) reach (it) this year. In any case, we accept before the finish of the primary quarter one year from now, we would have achieved (it)," he said in a Q&A with Forbes Africa on December 23.
