Government announces December 27th, 28th as public holidays

 

The government, has through the Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery, announced Monday, December 27th and Tuesday, December 28, 2021, as public holidays..

The Interior Ministry made the declaration in a press articulation on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, by means of its site.

As per the Ministry, this is to supplant Saturday, 25th December and Sunday, 26th December 2021 to check Christmas Day and Boxing Day individually, which are legal public occasions however fall toward the end of the week.

The Ministry is making this move through Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, (Act 601).

"The general population is thusly informed that Saturday, 25th December and Sunday, 26th December 2021 imprint Christmas Day and Boxing Day separately, which are Statutory Public Holidays."

"Nonetheless, taking into account the way that 25th December and 26th December 2021 fall on a Saturday and a Sunday individually, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has by Executive Instrument (E.I), as per Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, (Act 601) announced Monday, 27th December and Tuesday, 28th December 2021 as extra Public Holidays and ought to be seen as such all through the country."
